Here Mr. Gomba sings and performs on three types of mouth bow: chizembe (scraped), makube (strummed), and chipendani (plucked). The mouth is placed against the wood of the bow and shaped to produce overtones of the notes played on the bow’s string. Recorded February/March 1999 by Ted Wright.
